155 mm HE M1A4 ERFB/BT Round

The 155 mm High Explosive Extended Range Full Bore with Boat Tail (HE M1A4 ERFB/BT) projectile is designed for the engagement and suppression of land targets, including counter-battery fire, enemy troop concentrations, vehicle columns, and area targets.

The 155 mm HE M1A4 ERFB/BT is an ERFB variant without a base bleed unit. The BT designation indicates a purely ballistic projectile without base bleed assistance. Compared to the BB version, it has a shorter range but a simpler construction. Terminal effects on the target are essentially identical. This munition represents a compromise between performance and cost. It offers better ballistics than the M107 but does not achieve extreme ranges. It is suitable for units that do not require maximum reach. At the same time, it provides improved accuracy and stability compared to older-generation HE ammunition.
